Clinic Studios Open HouseTuesday, October 27, 5:30 to 7:00 PM
You set your availability. Your clients book themselves. Tiers are matched to the hours you practise.
(Suite 214, 30 Springborough Blvd SW, Springbank Hill. Free parking. Colleagues welcome.)

On Tuesday, October 27, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM, we are opening Suite 214 at 30 Springborough Blvd SW to psychologists, counsellors and social workers who already run a real caseload. You can walk the rooms, look at the private pods and the Studio Hub, meet the team and ask what you came to ask. Parking is free, and colleagues are welcome.
Already know you are coming? Go straight to the RSVP form.
Licensed psychologists, counsellors and social workers with an established caseload. Not someone setting up a first practice: someone who already has the clients and now has a question about the room. That question tends to arrive in one of two forms.
You are inside a collective, on a split. The collective does a lot for you, and a split can be fair. If you carry a full calendar, though, one question is worth asking: what is the biggest line on your statement actually buying? You want a full practice with a number you can read, and no wish to build a clinic of your own to get there. What you need is a room, and a room is a separate job from a practice.
You are on your own, in a room that was not set up for therapy. A sublet, a shared suite, an office that used to be something else. A nicer sublet changes the rent. It does not change who holds the calendar. And you only learn about the vent outside the window, the voice through the wall and the shared lobby once you are in.
Either way, you do not have to take our word for anything. Come and stand in the rooms.
Everything below is in the suite you will be standing in. We would rather list it plainly than describe it in adjectives.
Reception. The logo wall, green velvet chairs, a leather sofa and pendant lights. It is the first thing your clients would see of your practice, so look at it the way they would.

The studio rooms. Furnished for one-to-one sessions, with seating, lamps, art and, in several of them, a window. They are not all the same room, so look at more than one. No photo can tell you how a room feels to sit in for fifty minutes. That part you judge in person.

The hallway. The rooms open off a long hallway with a wood slat ceiling and a lettered sign beside each door.

The private pods. They are named on the pricing page and are hard to picture from a table, so go and look at them.

The Studio Hub. The members' lounge, with an island, a kitchenette and a desk corner. What comes with which tier is on the pricing page, and it is worth asking the team about.

The rest. Members get in with a key fob or a mobile phone. There are panic buttons for member safety. Bookings run from 6 am to 9 pm, seven days a week.
There are three tiers, and they are matched to the hours you practise rather than to a job title. Count the hours you actually spend in the room in a typical month, and the tier follows from that.
Studio fees only. The membership fee, pods, storage and parking differ by tier. The full table is on the pricing page.
Whichever tier you choose, working in the rooms looks the same. You set your availability on the booking platform and your clients book themselves. Reminders go out at 72, 48 and 24 hours. You also get a profile in the Clinic Studios website directory. It is a listing, not a referral service, and we would rather say so now than have you find out later.
It is for a clinician with enough hours in the room that the room matters: a full or filling calendar, and a wish to decide your own hours.
It is probably not for you if you are still building your first caseload, if you see clients a day or two a week, or if the room you have already works. A sublet or a shared room is the right answer for plenty of practices, and for a day or two a week it may well be the better fit. We would rather you hear that from us before you give up an evening.
And if your collective's scheduling, billing and IT support are things you use every week, a split can be a fair price for them. Come anyway if you want to see the other option, but do not come expecting us to tell you that your collective is a bad deal. It may not be.
Here is the evening in the order you will probably move through it.
Before you leave home. RSVP below. Your confirmation goes to the email you give us, and there is a box for the number of colleagues you are bringing.
At the door, from 5:30 PM. Park for free and find Suite 214 at 30 Springborough Blvd SW. The open house runs from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.
In the rooms. Tour the suite: the studio rooms, the hallway, the private pods and the Studio Hub. Sit in the chairs. Hold the light and the layout up against the room you have now.
With the team. Meet the team and ask what you came to ask: how booking works, which tier fits your hours, what the terms are, what comes with each level. Bring your own list.
By 7:00 PM. The evening ends at 7:00. If you want a longer look afterwards, private tours stay available.
Suite 214, 30 Springborough Blvd SW, Calgary, AB T3H 5M6. It is in the Springborough Professional Centre in Springbank Hill, in Calgary's southwest. Parking at the event is free. Open the address in Google Maps.
Cannot make Tuesday? Private tours stay available. Call 403.471.8617 or email jwelbourn@clinicstudios.ca and we will set one up.
Tell us who is coming and a little about your practice, so the team knows who is walking in.
A split can be fair, and you are the best judge of what you still use every week. What Tuesday shows you is the other option: tiers matched to the hours you practise, a booking platform where you set your availability and your clients book themselves, and rooms that are already built. Bring your questions about the rest and ask them in person.
No. You get a profile in the Clinic Studios website directory, which is a listing and not a referral service. A better question to take with you is where your next ten clients would come from if you moved. If the answer is your group, that should weigh more than any room.
The tiers are matched to the hours you practise, not to fixed days of the week. Silver is priced by the hour, and Gold and Platinum are monthly fees. You set your availability and your clients book themselves. For the terms themselves, ask the team on Tuesday.
For a day or two a week, a sublet can be the right call. The question worth asking is who holds the calendar. Here you set your availability, your clients book themselves, and bookings run from 6 am to 9 pm, seven days a week. If that is worth little to you, a sublet may be all you need.
We will not describe the sound of a room on a web page, because you should not rely on a web page for it. Sound is the first thing to check in any therapy room. Walk the rooms on Tuesday and judge for yourself.
Count the clinical hours you spend in the room in a typical month. Silver is meant for roughly 5 to 25 hours, Gold for 25 to 35, and Platinum for more than 35. If you sit near a line, ask the team on Tuesday.
Yes. Colleagues are welcome, and the RSVP form has a box for the number of guests you are bringing.

You do not have to be unhappy with your current room to come. Looking at the other option costs you one evening, and a colleague who has seen the rooms is a useful second opinion.
